London Explorers

Status:Active, open to new members
Leader:
When: Every Few Months
Venue: London

The format for our groups walks is different to other groups in that we choose a destination as the focus for our walks first such as an art gallery, a museum , a mansion, a district etc. and construct a shorter walk set before and after the chosen venue. This is of the order of 2-3 miles. . We will generally lunch at the venue ,and have a coffee/comfort break on arrival before setting off on the walk

We have been to for example The War Museum, The Wallace Collection, Canary Wharf The Barbican Camden Market the Inns of Temple.

A member will reconnoiter the walking elements and construct it such that lots of interesting things are seen along the way. We anticipate that in joining us that you are agreeing at some point to reconnoiter and lead a walk. Suggestions at any time as to our destinations are always welcome. A time span for the walks is generally 9am to 6pm.on a Thursday 4-5 times a year. The actual date chosen is decided by the walk leader.

Please note we try to avoid routes with lots of steps and stairs as the only means of access, but this is not always possible, so you will need to be feasibly fit to join us. We like to keep each visit down to a manageable 16 members but that has not been a problem to date.

First and foremost we try to keep the group together on our ventures out, we cross roads as a group etc. etc

We pay all our own train/tube fares , entrance and costs if applicable and share the cost of any reconnoiter made by a member £10 per year a likely total.
